Graduate of an accredited echocardiography (non-invasive cardiovascular) program. (Preferred)

Ultrasound tech cross trained into echo with 3-5 years experience considered.

Knowledge of PACS is preferred.

Essential Job Functions:

Maintains a high quality of patient care; positions and handles patients with a high degree of professional ethics, care, tact, courtesy, patience and safety.

Greets and introduces self to patient and describes nature and time requirements of requested exams.

Keeps room and work area neat and orderly.

Identifies problems and communicates to the imaging director; offers solutions when appropriate.

Checks the order for history/special instructions. Furnishes cardiologist or treating physician with the patient's history on worksheet or assessment sheet. Completes all paperwork where applicable.

Assumes responsibility for proper and efficient operation of all the echo equipment used; reports malfunctions and the need for adjustments or repairs.

Assists in the movement of patients to and from wheelchairs and carts onto tables/gurneys to complete exams.

Continuing education credits, accreditations and certifications are current at all times.

Follows hospital exposure control plans/blood borne and airborne pathogens.

Maintains confidentiality of all hospital and patient information at all times. Follows HIPAA regulations and policies.

Government issued photo ID required. Photo Identification must be carried on person during hours of service to client.
