    Job details
  • A large hospital in Arizona is looking for experienced ER/Emergency Room RNs for a travel assignment.
  • Float Policy: Can be float between St. Joseph's Main, St. Joseph's Westgate, and the 2 Free Standing ERs in Litchfield Park & Glendale.
  • - Unit: ED / Trauma
  • - # beds: Acute - 36 and Subacute - 54.
  • Trauma bays - 6 (no travelers)
  • - Charge Nurse: 2 Charge RNs - will task or have light patient load.
  • - Nurse Aides: 4-PCTs for sitters.
  • - Hospitalist or Intensivists in house: Minimum of 2 MDs or as many as 8. Midlevels also utilized.
  • - IV Team: Core RNs are US trained.
  • - RT 24/7: Yes
  • - Pharmacy 24/7: Yes, Pharmacist in ER 10hrs/day
  • - Common diagnosis / Types of patients: Trauma, Burns and Peds transferred out. CP Center, Spinal Cord TBIN certification. 88,000 patients per year, 250-300 per day.
  • Additional Notes: 30-40 psych holds.
    Job requirements
  • The right candidate will have 2 years of experience, hold an active BLS, ACLS, PALS and TNCC.
  • Also must have an active AZ license or compact.
  • Required Certs: BLS, ACLS, PALS
  • Preferred Certs: TNCC and ATCN
  • **ENPC not allowed to replace PALS Cert**
  • - Ratios: 1:4 ratio
  • - Scrub Color: Navy
  • - Vents: Managed by RT
  • 2 years ER experience.
    Schedule information
  • - Shifts: 7a-7p, 7p-7a, 11a-11p, 1p-1a
  • - Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per month, at unit discretion
  • 12 hour days, 4 total weekend shifts per 4 weeks, 2 out of 3 major holidays
    Unit specific information
  • - Tele: Phillips monitors, must be able to read strips
  • - EMR: Cerner
  • ED does Foley catheter insertion but does port-a-cath insertion instead of central line dressing change
  • - Floating: Float within ER
