Position Overview

Patient Population
- The unit cares for medical and oncology ICU patients, including those with:
- Adult respiratory distress syndrome
- Multi-system organ failure
- Septic shock
- GI bleeding
- Complicated pregnancy
- Oncology
- Renal failure
- Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
- Focus on family-centered care and patients in all phases of their transplant needs.
Required Certifications
- ACLS: Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- BLS: Basic Life Support
- Additional Certifications:
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
- CHEMO (Chemotherapy)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
- NIH Stroke Certification
Competencies
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
- Color Blind Testing
- Competency Exam
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam
- Conscious Sedation Competency Exam
Health Requirements
- Fit Mask Testing: Required within specified timeframes
- Vaccinations:
- Tdap (within 10 years)
- TB testing (various options available)
- Hepatitis B (titer or vaccination)
- Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella (vaccination or titer)
- Varicella (vaccination or titer)
- Flu vaccination documentation during flu season
- COVID-19 vaccination tracking (not required but recommended)
Background Check
- A 7-year criminal background check is required within 45 days of start.
