Job Description

• Position involves working in a community hospital with a single intensive care unit, providing care for a wide variety of diseases, including occasional pediatric patients.
• Must be available to work every other major holiday and may work every other weekend.
• Cannot work more than 4 consecutive 12-hour shifts.
• Block scheduling is not allowed.

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• NIH Stroke Certification
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) preferred
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)

Additional Requirements

• EPIC experience is preferred.
• State License: Must have a permanent RN license; temporary licenses are not accepted.
• NURSYS Verification: Required for all RNs.
• Background Check: Required within 60 days of start, covering all states lived/worked in the past 7 years.
• Drug Testing: Must be completed within 30 days of start, including a 9-panel drug screen.
• Health Documents:

  • Initial physical exam and annual updates.
  • Tdap vaccine required.
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray required.
  • Flu vaccine or exemption required.

Orientation and Training

• Candidates will complete modules during orientation, which take about 6 hours to complete.
• Facility-specific training will be provided, including pharmacology exams and other competencies.
