- Will work every other weekend.
- May be asked to float to other Med/Surg Units, ICU Units and ED waiting rooms
- Nurse to Patient Ratio 1:4 or 1:5
- Equipment utilized: EPIC, Pyxis
- NVU is a 40 bed medical surgical unit specializing in the care of patients with neurological disorders such as Stroke, Epilepsy, Multiple Sclerosis and other inflammatory disorders of the brain and spinal cord.
- We have a large spinal surgery population, which includes care for the post-operative neuro-surgery, ortho-surgery, Laminectomy and Spinal Fusion patients.
- Our unit also includes six 'step-down/telemetry' beds and six bariatric beds allowing us to provide care to a diverse patients population.
- Lastly, there is a four bed Neuro Monitoring Unit where we admit seizure patients starting at age 5 in an effort to find the cause of their seizures.
