Job Description

As an RN in the Intensive Care unit, you will utilize the nursing process to provide direct patient care. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Patient Care:

    • Assess immediate and ongoing care needs of patients and their significant others.
    • Develop comprehensive care plans addressing physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs.
    • Provide direct patient care based on assessed needs and medical regimens.
    • Supervise care provided by LPNs, RNPs, nursing attendants, and technicians.
  • Coordination and Communication:

    • Observe, evaluate, document, and communicate patient responses to illness and treatment.
    • Coordinate the overall plan of care with the multidisciplinary team.
    • Establish care priorities and ensure timely provision of patient care.
  • Quality Improvement:

    • Participate in quality improvement activities related to patient care delivery.
    • Engage in the development of nursing and hospital standards.
  • Professional Development:

    • Participate in the orientation of nursing staff and assume charge responsibilities as needed.
    • Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
    • Serve as a clinical resource for student nurses and participate in educational programs.
