Job details

Facility in Eastern Nebraska is looking for several traveling Med-Surg nurses. The hospital is looking for both day and night shift coverage.

Job requirements

The shift will be twelve hours, 13-26 Week Contacts, 36-48 hour guarantee's.

Schedule information

Shifts are 0630-1900, 1830-0700. Every other weekend required.
2-3 Holidays from Thanksgiving to New Year's.
Self Scheduling available. Block scheduling may be approved in a limited amount.
Floating Requirements: Yes to other medical surgical areas or units with MedSurg patients waiting for a MedSurg bed

Unit specific information

# of Beds: 55
Nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit with ratios and duties provided.
Mechanical lifts in every other room.

Additional Details

Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:5-6
Common diagnosis/Types of patients: MedSurg/Tele- joint replacements, fractures, colon resections, etc.
Are RN's required to titrate drips?: Heparin, lidocaine, and ketamine
Common titratable &/or set rate drips: PCA pumps
Charge Nurse details.
Tele/Monitor Techs details.
Scrub Color/Dress Code/Scrubs: RNs: Navy Blue
Unit/department specific orientation: 2 days
Big focus on hourly rounding and responsiveness
They serve patients of all cultures on this unit including Spanish, Karen, Burmese
Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be affiliated with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.
RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract).
