Behavioral Health Float Pool Psych RN Nights & EOW – 36hrs.
Unit Name: Behavioral Health Float Pool – Psych RN.
Brief Unit Description: This position will float to various mental health units throughout the hospital (Pedi, Adult & Geri Psych).
Years of Experience Required: 2 years minimum.
Skill Sets Required: Trauma informed, patient-centered, and verbally capable of de-escalating patients. Proficient in using automatic medication dispensing system (Omni Cell); proficient in electronic health records documentation, preferably EPIC; proficient in the use of psychotropic medications and side effects.
Clinician to Patient Ratio: Unit specific. Pedi Psych is: 1 to 3. Adult & Geri Psych is 1:7 or 8.
Patient Population: Children Ages 3-17, Adults 18 – 65, and Geriatric Adults 66+.
EMR (Charting System): EPIC.
Floating Required: Yes, to all behavioral health areas within the Epstein Units and AMHU.
Rotating Shifts Required: Yes, for Day Rotate (7a-7p, 11a-11p & 7p-7a). Rotation not required for Night Shift.

Job requirements

Massachusetts RN License.
AHA BLS Certification.
Certification in De-escalation.

Additional Details

AVADE training offered on-site as well as lead EKG training.
Knowledge of the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health rules and regulations.
