Employment Details

• Type: Travel/Contract
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Schedule: Nights; 3x12s (Option for 4x12s)
• Weekends: 6 weekend shifts per 6 weeks (for night shift contracts, weekend = Fri, Sat, or Sun)

Unit Description

• Unit: Intermediate Care - Pulmonary (4B IMC)
• Patient Population: Adult to geriatric patients with acute and chronic pulmonary conditions, including those needing advanced airway management (ventilators, tracheostomies, high flow O2, or BiPAP).

Requirements

• Experience:

  • Ventilator experience required
  • 2 years of experience in a PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown work setting
  • Cardiac TELE background within the past year
• Licenses/Certifications:

  • Active VA or Compact License
  • BLS & ACLS certifications
• Skills:

  • Management of dysrhythmias
  • Telemetry monitoring
  • Use of Rapid Response Teams
  • Pre/Post Cardiac Cath
  • Central line care/management
  • Peripheral Line Care/Management
  • PICC line management
  • Manage and titrate cardiac drips
  • Tracheostomy management
  • Isolation precautions
  • EPIC experience preferred

Competencies and Certifications

• Various competencies and certifications are required, including but not limited to:

  • ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Certification, and others as applicable to the unit.
