- A large hospital in Arizona is looking for experienced ER/Emergency Room RNs for a travel assignment. The right candidate will have 2 years of experience, hold an active BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC. Also must have an active AZ license or compact.
Job details
- MUST HAVE 1 YEAR OF TRAUMA LEVEL 1 EXPERIENCE; WILL SCREEN 8 MONTHS+
- MUST HAVE CERNER EXPERIENCE, PLEASE NOTE ON RESUME UNDER WORK HISTORY TO CONFIRM HOW RECENT
- candidate is required to pass DYS exam PRIOR to accepting. 2 attempts
- DAY 1 PASS FAIL EXAM: STUDY GUIDE PROVIDED WIH FDI
- PASS FAIL SIMs Lab: All RNs will be expected to complete SIMs Lab for Foley catheter insertion & central line dressing changes, with the exception of NyICU & ED.
Job requirements
- Shifts: 7a-7p, 7p-7a, 11a-11p, 1p-1a
- Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per month, at unit discretion
- Float Policy: Can be float between St. Joseph's Main, St. Joseph's Westgate, and the 2 Free Standing ERs in Litchfield Park & Glendale. (4 facilities total) about 30 mins apart, can be floated midshift
Schedule information
- Unit: ED / Trauma
- # beds: Acute - 36 and Subacute - 54. Trauma bays - 6 (no travelers)
- Required Certs: BLS, ACLS, PALS
- Ratios: 1:4 ratio
- EMR: Cerner
- Charge Nurse: 2 Charge RNs - will task or have light patient load.
- Nurse Aides: 4-PCTs for sitters.
- Scrub Color: Navy
- Tele: Phillips monitors, must be able to read strips.
- Vents: Managed by RT
- Hospitalist or Intensivists in house: Minimum of 2 MDs or as many as 8. Midlevels also utilized.
- IV Team: Core RNs are US trained.
- RT 24/7: Yes
- Pharmacy 24/7: Yes, Pharmacist in ER 10hrs/day
Unit specific information
- Medical Solutions Pre-Screens, if clinical recommends AUTO OFFER
- Float Policy: Can be float between main ER and affiliated facilities, may be floated midshift
- Floor specific orientation: 2-3 shifts on the floor.
- Common diagnosis / Types of patients: Trauma, Burns and Peds transferred out. CP Center, Spinal Cord TBIN certification. 88,000 patients per year, 250-300 per day.
- Additional Notes: 30-40 psych holds. 2 years ER experience.
