A hospital in California is looking for an experienced Labor & Delivery/PP nurse for a travel contract.
The right candidate will have 2 full years of experience.

Job requirements

2 years of prior experience in L&D, prefers travel experience
Hold an active CA License.

Schedule information

12 hr shifts- 7a, 11a, and 7p
Weekend Requirement: 4 shifts in a 4 week period
Holidays: 1 Major, 1 Minor. Major RN holidays: Christmas, Thanksgiving, New Yrs.

Unit specific information

# L&D Beds: 10 beds - 2 OR's in L&D
# triage beds: 2 beds
# Postpartum beds: 18 beds
# births per day, per year: 130 births per month
Ratios: 1:1 close to delivery, 1:2 otherwise, 1:4 couplets on postpart
FHM System: Obix fetal monitoring
EMR: Cerner
Charge Nurse: Yes- shared between L&D and PP
Nurse Aides/OB tech: Scrub techs on L&D, otherwise none
C-section experience required: Yes- scrub, recovery, and circulate experience required for L&D
Floating: PP-no unless NICU background for feeder/grower, L&D to postpartum. Typically don't work interchangeably
Floor specific orientation: 3 Shifts
Common diagnosis / Types of patients: Deliver down to 23 wks, some high risk- Antepartum, HTN , plan to tx out if known cardiac abnormality.
