  • A hospital in California is looking for an experienced Labor & Delivery/PP nurse for a travel contract.
  • The right candidate will have 2 full years of experience.
    Job requirements
  • 2 years of prior experience in L&D, prefers travel experience
  • Hold an active CA License.
    Schedule information
  • 12 hr shifts- 7a, 11a, and 7p
  • Weekend Requirement: 4 shifts in a 4 week period
  • Holidays: 1 Major, 1 Minor. Major RN holidays: Christmas, Thanksgiving, New Yrs.
    Unit specific information
  • # L&D Beds: 10 beds - 2 OR's in L&D
  • # triage beds: 2 beds
  • # Postpartum beds: 18 beds
  • # births per day, per year: 130 births per month
  • Ratios: 1:1 close to delivery, 1:2 otherwise, 1:4 couplets on postpart
  • FHM System: Obix fetal monitoring
  • EMR: Cerner
  • Charge Nurse: Yes- shared between L&D and PP
  • Nurse Aides/OB tech: Scrub techs on L&D, otherwise none
  • C-section experience required: Yes- scrub, recovery, and circulate experience required for L&D
  • Floating: PP-no unless NICU background for feeder/grower, L&D to postpartum. Typically don't work interchangeably
  • Floor specific orientation: 3 Shifts
  • Common diagnosis / Types of patients: Deliver down to 23 wks, some high risk- Antepartum, HTN , plan to tx out if known cardiac abnormality.

  • Unit: Labor and Deliver
