Unit B3A - Cardiopulmonary Telemetry & Neuro - MUST HAVE A MINIMUM OF 2 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE TO BE CONSIDERED, NO EXCEPTIONS.

Common diagnosis / Types of patients: CHF and general Telemetry, Fluid overload, SOB, arrhythmias, ETOH, etc.

Dysrhythmia Exam required 24-48hrs prior to acceptance of a position - 2 MAXIMUM ATTEMPTS, ONLY - NO EXCEPTIONS, NO 3RD ATTEMPT ALLOWED.

2 years minimum experience required.

Every other weekend.

2 major holidays, 2 minor depending on contract dates.

Ratios: 1:3-4.

Are RNs required to titrate drips? Yes.

Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Yes - cardiac, heparin, Lasix, bumex, etc.

Charge Nurse/House Supervisor? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? Yes, no patient assignment. Also have a manager.

Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios? PCTs - 1 per every 15 patients.

Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? RNs must be able to interpret EKGs.

Scrub Color/Dress code: Navy.

Unit/Department specific orientation: 2 days on the floor.

Floating Requirements: Yes - to any tele floor.

There is also a pass/fail Sim Lab on day one of orientation.
