A large system in Nebraska/Iowa are looking for a Med/Surg RN.
Need a Iowa or compact license.
12 hour shifts, 36 hours guaranteed.
1 years of unit experience.
Contract is 13 weeks.

Schedule information

12 hour shifts.
36 hours guaranteed.
Shifts: 0630-1900, 1830-0700 / Self-scheduling.
Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend- Friday and Saturday are considered the weekend for nights.

Unit specific information

Department: Med Surg / Ortho.
Common diagnoses/Types of patients include: Total knees, hips, shoulder replacements, COPD, diabetes, wounds, and other conditions.
Patient care techs on unit with a ratio of 1:10.
No requirement for RNs to titrate drips.
Charge Nurse and care team support available.
Orientation includes classroom sessions and 1-12 hour shift on unit.

Additional Details

Unit focuses on hourly rounding and bedside shift report.
Looking for candidates who like change and want to learn.
Travelers need to be flexible and self-directed.
Primary patient population is Caucasian, low to middle class.
We do have patients who are homeless and have mental health and/or addiction history.
Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.
RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
