Any traveler not currently in possession of an active State of HI license must apply upon acceptance of offer.
Candidate must have Hawaii License by start of assignment.

Job details

General job duties include Correcting menus and making menu changes for kitchen staff, serving as a resource for food service management and kitchen staff in regards to clarification of diets/nutrition support and patient satisfaction.
Reviewing patient assessment requests, Interviewing patients and performing nutrition assessments, making nutrition recommendations as needed, following up with physician consults, providing nutrition education, participating in interdisciplinary team meetings and/or ICU rounds, collaborating with all food service and medical staff to provide optimal patient care.

Job requirements

Minimum one year of clinical nutrition experience.
Skills Required - Nutrition Assessment for pediatric to geriatric patients, Medical Nutrition Therapy for acute care, long term care, and critical care.
Ability to estimate nutrition needs such as caloric, protein, and fluid needs.
Nutrition Support (Parenteral/Enteral Nutrition), Nutrition Education, Food Service Management.
Ability to chart in electronic medical records, ability to develop and update nutrition care plans, Minimum Data Sets.

Schedule information

5-8 hour shifts (40 hours), with no guarantee of hours or shift preference.
Dietitian needs to work five days a week and this includes weekends.
Weekends are required.
Shift is 7am to 3:30pm.

Unit specific information

Dietitian will float to other units/departments as needed.
Travel expenses and time will be the traveler/agency responsibility when providing services at Ka'u Hospital and Hilo Hospital.
