- Travelers must live 100 miles away from any Monument Health facility
- Previous permanent staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Patient Types: Adults with a variety of diagnoses including CHF, ARF, hepatitis, ESLD, DM, DKA, pneumonia, sepsis, GI bleed, syncope, chest pain, pulmonary emboli, respiratory failure, COPD, arrhythmias, seizure disorders, overdose, and delirium tremors.
- Patient Ratios: RN: PCU/Tele - 1:4 (Days & Nights), Med/Surg – 1:5 (Days & Nights), CNA: 1:8 (Days & Nights)
Job details
- Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing; Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing
- Skills required
- ICU RN qualified to float to ED
- PCU RN qualified to float to ICU
Job requirements
- Weekend rotation – Every other or 50% weekends per 4-week schedule. Weekends are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
- Holiday Expectations: Every other holiday minimum during contracted timeframe
- Approval of time off? Up to 7 days. Must extend contract if unable to work a full week to accommodate a 13-week contract. No RTO during Sturgis Bike Rally (first 3 weeks every August).
Schedule information
- Comfortability working alongside an LPN/Team Nursing
- Staffing model on 6th floor where med-surg pts are cohort moving toward an RN paired with an LPN
- Support on the Unit
- CNA (Ratio: 1:8 both Days & Nights)
- Charge nurse: Yes – 2 for the unit (free-floating), 24/7
- Centralized Tele Monitoring: 24/7 to assist with Tele reading and alarm notifications
