Position Details

Shift Information

• Schedule: Rotating shifts (3x12's)

  • Evening/Night: 7pm - 7:30am
  • Day: 7am - 7:30pm
• Shift Rotation: Typically consists of 2 weeks of days followed by 2 weeks of nights.

Requirements

• Experience:

  • Minimum of 18 months recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience.
  • 18 months of permanent experience in the specialty prior to travel assignments.
• Licensure:

  • Must have a permanent Ohio license or a compact state license in hand.
• Certifications:

  • AHA BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)

Additional Information

• Holidays: Travelers must work at least every other holiday.
• Orientation: ECG rhythm recognition test and SafeMedicate assessment will be completed during orientation; acceptable scores are required.
• Documentation:

  • Government-issued photo ID required.
  • Various health documents and certifications are required, including:

    • Physical Exam
    • Fit Mask certification
    • Vaccination records (e.g., Tdap, Flu, Hepatitis B)
    • Background check
    • References from recent employment

Competencies

• Unit-specific competency exams required within 12 months of start and updated annually.
• Medication test and pharmacology competency exam required.

Onboarding Process

• Candidates must complete all onboarding modules prior to clearance to start.
• The onboarding process typically takes multiple days to complete.

References

• Two references required from employment within the past year, from a manager or supervisor.
