Job Description
The Cardiovascular Technologist will assist physicians in performing invasive procedures related to cardiac and peripheral vascular disease. Responsibilities include:
- Assisting in invasive procedures and performing related imaging techniques.
- Handling guide wires, catheters, administering contrast injections, and maintaining sterile fields.
- Monitoring and recording patient conditions and procedure progress.
- Operating and maintaining clinical equipment.
Shift Information
- Shift: Variable 4x10 (0700-1730)
- On-Call Requirement: Yes, 6 nights a month (includes 1 weekend every 4-5 weeks)
Qualifications
- Experience Required: Minimum of 2 years in a Cath Lab; EP experience preferred.
- Certifications Required:
- WA licensed CVT and/or ARRT
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Preferred Certification: Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)
Essential Functions
- Perform pre-procedural patient care activities.
- Scrub in for procedures and assist with catheter handling.
- Maintain a sterile field and operate clinical equipment.
Work Environment
- Type of Setting: Acute/Outpatient/Inpatient/Emergent
- Common Equipment Used: Philips, CSI, Rotablator, Shockwave, Inari, Impella, IABP, FFR, IVUS, JestStream, AngioJet, TurboHawk
- Number of Procedures per Day: 20-25

Compliance and Documentation
- Must sign various compliance and authorization forms prior to start.

Required Certifications and Training
- NIH Stroke Certification (required within 6 months)
- Additional certifications may be required based on specific department needs.
