Job Description

As a Registered Nurse in the Cardiac Care Unit, you will utilize the nursing process to provide direct patient care. You will be responsible for prescribing, delegating, and coordinating all care provided to assigned patients, ensuring adherence to established standards of care and hospital policies.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Assess the immediate and ongoing care needs of patients and their significant others.
  2. Develop comprehensive care plans addressing physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs.
  3. Provide direct patient care based on assessed needs and medical regimens, overseeing care provided by other nursing personnel.
  4. Observe, evaluate, document, and communicate patient responses to illness and treatment.
  5. Coordinate the overall plan of care, ensuring implementation of nursing interventions.
  6. Accept responsibility for nursing interventions and outcomes based on clinical judgment.
  7. Participate in quality improvement activities related to patient care delivery.
  8. Communicate effectively and manage stressful situations while facilitating interdisciplinary relationships.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Participate in the orientation of nursing staff.
  • Assume charge responsibilities as delegated.
  • Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
  • Serve as a clinical resource for student nurses.
  • Engage in meetings, committees, and educational programs.
  • Participate in research and pilot projects supported by the Nursing Department.
  • Pursue continuing professional growth and education.

Experience Requirements

  • No experience required; some preferred.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to utilize electronic record systems and relevant healthcare equipment.
