Job Summary

• Perform scrub duties and maintain sterile supplies and technique.
• Assist in nursing care and preparation of surgical patients.
• Assemble, organize, and complete case carts according to doctor’s preference lists.
• Provide appropriate instrumentation, suture, and all supplies as requested while maintaining a sterile environment.
• Assist the surgeon by passing instruments during procedures.
• Count sponges, needles, blades, and instruments using proper techniques and established policies.
• Assist in the maintenance and care of specimens and prepare them for laboratory analysis.
• Handle specimens, implants, dressings, soiled instruments, contaminated materials, and sharps according to established policies and standards.
• Assist with timely turnover of rooms, including cleanup, replacement, and restocking of supplies and equipment.
• Care for instruments and equipment.
• Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCL Health and abide by service behavior standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• May be required to float to other departments based on business needs.
• May be required to be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift.

Contract Length

• 70 days

Required Skills & Experience

• Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
• Knowledge, skills, minimum education, training, licensure, experience, and/or ability required.
• Regular attendance on-site during scheduled business hours or shifts is required.
• Ability to work nights and/or weekends is required for identified positions.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• One (1) year of OR scrubbing experience is preferred.
• One (1) year of clinical experience in an accredited hospital is preferred.
