Job Description

Unit Highlights

  • Flexible time-off requests and scheduling.
  • Positive management and team dynamic.
  • Call program includes 2-4 weeknight shifts and 1-2 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule, with no call shift longer than 12 hours.

Shift Details

  • Type: D/E Rotating 5x8s or 2x8s and 2x12s
  • Hours: 06:30-14:30 / 14:30-22:30 or 06:30-18:30 / 10:30-22:30
  • Shift rotation is required.

Patient Population

  • Adult cardiac surgery patients, including:
    • Cardiac: Aortic Aneurysm Repair, MVR, AVR, CABG, ECMO, Heart Transplant, MAZE, LVAD/RVAD, Aortic Balloon/Impella Devices.
    • Thoracic: VATS Wedge Resection, VATS/Open Lobectomy, Esophagectomy, Bronchoscopy, EGD, Mediastinal Mass Removal, Lung Transplant, Laparoscopic & Open Hiatal Hernia Repair.
    • Vascular: AAA, EVAR, Carotid Endarterectomy, AV Fistulas, Fem-distal bypass, Fem-fem bypass, SMA bypass, Vein stripping/ablation.

Requirements

  • Experience: At least 2 years of CVOR RN experience and previous travel experience.
  • Skills: Scrub and Circulating experience rated 3 or 4 on the skills list.
  • Call Requirements: 2-4 weeknights and 1-2 weekends of call per 4-week schedule.

Certifications Required

  • ACLS: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (AHA only, certificates of completion not accepted).
  • BLS: Basic Life Support (AHA only, certificates of completion not accepted).
  • PALS: Pediatric Advanced Life Support (AHA only, certificates of completion not accepted, required for specific units).
  • NRP: Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure (certificates of completion not accepted).
  • Additional Certifications: Various health documents and verifications required, including drug testing, TB screening, and flu vaccination.

Additional Information

  • Contract Length: 13 weeks.
  • Flu Vaccination: Required by 12/1/24, no exemptions allowed.
  • Background Check: Required within 30 days of start, renewed annually.
  • References: 2 recent verified professional references required.
