Job Description

• Shift: Weekends only, 12-hour night shifts (Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and possibly Monday)
• Ratios: 1:6, flexible based on organizational needs
• Float Requirement: Yes, will work with the Centralized Resource Nursing Pool covering multiple campuses
• Weekend Requirement: Every weekend

Required Skills and Certifications

• Experience: Minimum of 3 years, with at least 1 year in Med/Surg
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
• Traveler Experience: Required
• Locals Accepted: Yes, with rate difference

Preferred Skills and Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• Telemetry experience

Patient Care

• Floating between medical, surgical, and telemetry units
• Assisting in caring for patients in the Emergency Department who are inpatient
• May be required to care for patients with COVID-19

Additional Information

• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Unit Orientation: 24 hours (2 shifts)
• Scrubs: Navy
• Documentation Systems: PYXIS, EPIC, SBAR

Compliance Requirements

• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Various health documents and certifications required, including:

  • Negative TB or Chest X-Ray
  • Drug Testing
  • Flu Seasonal Vaccination
  • Background Check
  • Education Verification

Special Notes

• Contract staff may be required to work during catastrophic events, mass casualties, or disasters.
• Staff will be notified 2 hours before the start of the shift.
• Candidates must complete all required training and documentation prior to starting the assignment.
