  • RTO after booking is not allowed and is not allowed to be worked out onsite. Any call offs or additional RTO on unit, could possibly turn into a cancel and DNR.
  • Target Ratios: 1:5-6 (Mixed acuity unit with PCU and MS/Tele patients with ratios of 1:6)
  • *36 - 48 hrs can be offered. OT will be offered after 48 hrs has been reached.
  • Unit will accept contracts from 13 weeks+ up to March 15, 2025 (hard stop) to get the Unit through the Holidays!
  • 12 HOUR NIGHTS
  • ***RTO 7 DAYS MAX for Aya Auto Offer***
  • Float Requirement: required to float to like units.
  • Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts in 6 weeks but staffing needs may require more.
  • Patient Population: COPD, PNA, Resp distress, Covid-19, FLU, PE’s.
  • Patient population currently includes care for COVID-19 patients, including those who have tested positive.
  • Our acuity is on the higher end of a med-surg unit, but we do operate with a team lead present in a 3:1 that rounds the whole unit, 2 respiratory therapists that are rounding, and an assistant nurse manager on shift including weekends. We do take ventilators on our unit but they are for chronic trach/vent patients. Our model is that no nurse has more than one vent patient at a time. Our unit is 48 beds in total. Our CNA’s are a 9-10:1. Most of our patient population is going to be COPD exacerbations, pneumonia, acute respiratory failure, and patients with chest tubes, CPAP, BiPAP. Many have comorbidities as well as telemetry monitoring.

  • Unit Systems: Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR
  • Scheduling Type: Unit Can Accommodate Block Scheduling
  • Unit Orientation: 24 hours
  • Scrubs: white or navy blue
    Job requirements
  • Minimum Years of Experience: 1 year required.
  • Traveler Experience: Unit WILL ACCEPTS 1st time traveler.
  • Locals Accepted / Rate Difference: Yes
  • Skills: IV start, Vents, Telemetry and cpap/bipap, Interpretation/management of dysrhythmias.
  • Certs: ACLS, BLS
  • NIHSS preferred
  • Must pass EKG Testing prior to start for this specialty
  • Special Equipment: Chest tubes, Drips (Dopamine, Cardizem, Heparin, vents, trachs, bipaps/cpaps)
