Position Details

Unit Details

• Start Date: Candidate must complete the privileging process prior to start (approximately 3 months).
• Schedule:

  • Weekend Requirements: Only required during call.
  • Call Schedule: 1 day a week and 1 weekend every 4 weeks (subject to change based on departmental needs).
  • Floating: Within facility/scope of practice and to Main OR as needed.

Experience and Certification Requirements

• Minimum Experience: 3 years (first-time travelers accepted).
• Required Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • CSFA (Certified Surgical First Assistant) or NBSTSA (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting) or NCCSA (National Certified First Assistant)
• Required Skills:

  • Cardiac
  • Vascular
  • Endovascular
  • Thoracic experience

Compliance and Documentation

• Prescreening: Candidates will be reviewed by clinical staff to determine clinical fit. If clinical pass and within Piedmont guidelines, candidates will be sent to the manager for final decision.
• RTO (Requested Time Off): Maximum of 7 days; no holiday RTO accepted.
• Compliance: Full compliance required to start on time; non-compliance may result in a 2-week pushback due to bi-weekly orientation schedule.

Health and Safety Requirements

• Vaccinations:

  • Flu vaccine or declination required.
  • COVID vaccine or declination required.
• Health Documents:

  • Negative TB or Chest X-Ray within 12 months of start date.
  • Drug testing required within 30 days of start.
  • Background check required within 30 days of start.
