Provides quality nursing care to the patients in the department of Radiology Services.

Performs many nursing, as well as some technical duties in total support of the department.

As a member of the radiology services team is responsible for coordination of patient care in radiology services within established standards of care, hospital policies, procedures and guidelines.

Areas where the nurse may function: X-ray, special procedures, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, CT, MRI, and cardiology/pulmonary services.

May be asked to support the department by performing some clerical duties.

Performs duties and procedures and prepares documentation for Radiology functions (pre-procedure, procedural and post-procedure).

Functions at a professional nursing practice level utilizing the Nursing Process (Assessment, Planning Intervention and Evaluation) that provides for patient teaching, plan of care development and revision related to patient condition.

Assists the Radiologist and other physicians with procedures.

Maintains and practices nursing procedures acceptable to needs.
