Job Description

• Unit: Surgical floor Cardiovascular Unit 001 (11000)
• Capacity: 45 bed surgical unit
• Patient Population:

  • Trauma surgery
  • Post-bariatric surgery
  • Post-abdominal surgery
  • Post-amputation surgery
  • Urological issues
  • Overflow medically and cardiac

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)

Additional Information

Required Credentials for Onboarding

• BLS Certification: Must be AHA certified.
• ACLS Certification: Must be AHA certified.
• Nursys Verification: Required within 30 days prior to start.
• License/Certificate Verification: Current license and primary source verification required.
• Ascension Specialty Exam: Must pass with a minimum score of 80%.
• Ascension Color Vision: Must be completed prior to start.
• Ascension Core Competencies: Must complete within a year of start and updated yearly.
• Ascension EKG Exam: Must pass with a minimum score of 80%.
• MMR Vaccination: Documented proof required.
• Fit Test: Required for all travelers.
• Hepatitis B Documentation: Required.
• Influenza Vaccine: Required for flu season (October 1, 2024 - March 31, 2025).
• Health Statement: Must be completed prior to first assignment.
• Driver's License/State ID: Must match address on file.
• 2 Step PPD or IGRA: Required prior to start.
• Varicella Documentation: Required.
• Tdap Vaccination: Required.
• Ascension Profile: Resume or profile required.
• Professional References: At least two required.
• Criminal Background Check: Must be completed within 30 days of first assignment.
• 12 Panel Drug Screen: Required prior to start.
• Education Verification: Must be completed within 90 days of start.
• Confirmation of Assignment: Required upon initial assignment and updated upon each extension.
• Exit Survey: To be completed at the end of the assignment.
