Job Description

As a Registered Nurse (RN) at Bay Area Hospital, you will:

  • Apply the nursing process to the care of patients within the RN scope of practice as defined by the Oregon State Board of Nursing.
  • Teach patients and their significant others.
  • Document patient care in the medical record.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to effectively coordinate overall patient care.

  • Proficient in reading, writing, and conversing effectively in English.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexible and able to prioritize and adapt to rapidly changing patient and unit needs.
  • Effective teaching skills.
  • Ability to respond effectively to patient crisis/emergency situations.
  • Proficient in computer use, including electronic medical record documentation.
  • Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance at the assigned job location.

Education/Certifications/Licenses

  • Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Oregon.
  • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (must be obtained by the last day of the month after the 6-month grace period).

Experience

  • Recent (within the past 5 years) acute care hospital experience preferred.
  • Acute care hospital experience in the past two years or intermediate/progressive care experience preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience required.
