Stepdown - Days - Deaconess Gateway **AUTO OFFER**
NO LOCAL CANIDATES (40 MILE RADIUS RULE)
Primary location: Gateway
Shift Requirement: 12hr Days 6:30-7
Float Requirement: First to float within skillset.
On Call/Call Back Requirement: N/A
Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Three weekends out of every six-week schedule. Every other holiday.
Patient Population: Cardiac (post cath stents/interventions, pacers), CIWA/BH, Sepsis, DKA, CVA, CPAP, feeding tubes, crani POD 2, GI bleeds, hypothermic/bear hugger.
Skillset: Post-surgical assessment/care.
Unit Strengths: Fantastic CNA support, very helpful charge nurses, great teamwork.
Scrub Colors: Navy blue scrubs
Covid-19 Vaccine Not Required -- Subject to change

Job requirements

Minimum Experience REQUIRED: 3 years RN experience, 1 full year of stepdown experience, 1 travel assignment, trauma level II experience.
Charting Experience: Recent EPIC experience required (will be required to do a checkoff class)
REQUIRED- Tele/12-lead EKG interpretation (travelers are required to pass a tele test), Initiate/titrate drips (antiarrhythmics, Heparin, Insulin, etc.). NIHSS/Neuro assessments/dysphagia screen.
PREFERRED- Stable home vents, PleurX drain/pericardial drains, lumber drains, VP shunts, Narcan drips. Must have strong assessment and critical thinking skills!
Hard worker, resilient and manages change well, social candidates.

Schedule information

Guaranteed Hours: 36 (will accept 48 upon request)
Shift Requirement: 12hr Days 6:30-7
Float Requirement: Deaconess Midtown (IN) campus (8 miles apart) & potential to float to Deaconess Henderson (KY – 11 miles). 2 HR notice given for cross-campus float. Mid-shift float within the same campus. Cross-campus mid-shift float is unlikely but possible.

Unit specific information

Unit Details: Fantastic CNA support, very helpful charge nurses, great teamwork. 16 beds; Ratio: Days 1:3-4; NOCs 1:3-4 (1:5 for M/S). The CN takes a 1:2 patient assignment.
