Position Details

Shift Information

• Schedule: 3x12s or 4x12s
• Shift Type: Rotating Day/Night

  • 7pm-7:30am / 7am-7:30pm
  • Typically consists of 2 weeks of days followed by 2 weeks of nights.

Requirements

• Experience:

  • Minimum of 18 months recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience.
  • 18 months permanent experience in the specialty prior to travel assignments.
• Licensure:

  • Must have a permanent Ohio license or a compact state license in hand.
• Certifications:

  • AHA BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)

Additional Information

• Holidays: Travelers must work at least every other holiday.
• Orientation: ECG rhythm recognition test and safeMedicate assessment required during orientation.
• Documentation:

  • Government-issued photo ID required.
  • Various health documents and certifications are required, including:

    • Fit Mask
    • Tdap vaccine
    • Negative TB or Chest X-Ray
    • Drug Testing
    • Background Check
    • References (2 required from recent employment)

Competencies

• Competency Exams: Unit-specific competency exam required within 12 months of start and updated annually.
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam: Required as applicable by profession.

Onboarding Process

• Candidates must complete all onboarding modules prior to clearance to start.
• The onboarding process typically takes multiple days to complete.

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical Exam: Must include an assessment of capability to perform essential job functions.
• Vaccinations: Various vaccinations are required, including Hepatitis B, Varicella, and MMR.
• Flu Vaccine: Required during flu season, with no declinations accepted.
