Position Details

• Workload: Heavy CTA workload
• Minimum Experience Required: 1 year (Unit accepts first-time travelers)

Compliance and Requirements

• Prescreening: Candidates will be reviewed by clinical staff to determine clinical fit. If clinical pass and within Piedmont guidelines, candidates will be sent to the manager for final decision.
• RTO (Request Time Off): Maximum of 7 days
• Holidays: Expected to work one major holiday if it falls within the assignment period. If two major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work both. If three major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two of the holidays.

Certifications and Competencies Required

• Certifications:

  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support
  • BLS - Basic Life Support
  • PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (if applicable)
  • EFM - Electronic Fetal Monitoring (online course required within a few months of hire)
  • NIH Stroke Certification (if applicable)
  • State License Verification (if applicable)
  • NURSYS Verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP)
  • Tech Cert Verification - National (if applicable)

• Competencies:

  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required for specific units)
  • Color Blind Testing Online
  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required for RNs and LVNs by Aya)

Health and Safety Documents

• Vaccinations:

  • Flu vaccine or Declination required
  • COVID vaccine or Declination required
  • Negative TB or Chest X-Ray within 12 months of start date
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Rubeola, Mumps, and Rubella vaccinations or positive titers

• Drug Testing: Negative 10 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days of start.

Background and History Requirements

• Background Check: Required within 30 days of start, including verification of education and work history.
• References: 2 clinical references needed.
• Skills Checklist: Must be updated annually.
• Work History Verification: Required for all assignments with one agency.

Additional Information

• Compliance: Full compliance is required to start on time; if not compliant, the start date may be pushed back by 2 weeks due to the bi-weekly orientation schedule.
• Locals Accepted: Same rate as travelers.
