Diagnoses/Types of patients include total joint replacement, spinal surgery, urology procedure, abdominal surgery (lap appy, bowel resection), bariatrics, medical overflow
Hemo hemovacs and Jp drains frequently encountered
Colostomies are common, but no GYN as it goes to maternity and cardiac MS Tele

Nurse to patient ratios: Days 1:4-5, Nights 1:5-6
Charge nurse available on both shifts, may take a low acuity assignment on nights
Nurse aids/patient care techs on the unit with ratios of 1:12
No requirement for RNs to manage RT equipment besides troubleshooting
Remote tele packs available with monitor tech to read an interpret
Nurse does not read their own strips
Floating to medical and telemetry required
Any color scrubs allowed

Additional Details

Radius Rule: 50 miles. Candidates may not be aligned with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity
RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13-week contract). Additional RTO not approved, including after submissions
Bedside shift report is an expectation
Close-knit and good culture on the unit
