Job Description

The practice of nursing in this role requires specialized knowledge, judgment, and skills to provide care to groups and individuals. The RN will utilize knowledge from various sciences to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. Care is provided based on a model that promotes an ongoing partnership between patients, families, and healthcare providers, ensuring it is culturally based and age-specific. The RN will adhere to the American Nursing Association (ANA) code of ethics and the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.

Unit Description: Cardiac Cath Lab

  • Fast-paced environment utilizing the latest technology to treat adult cardiovascular disease.
  • Participation in research trials, including pre-market release of new technology.
  • Specialized programs include:
    • Chronic Limb Ischemia (CLI) to prevent limb loss due to vascular disease.
    • Chronic Total Occlusions (CTO) to improve quality of life for patients with angina.
  • Structural heart program treating valves and structures within the heart, led by a team of expert physicians.
  • Nurses work alongside a team of Radiologic Technologists and Cardiologists in roles such as circulator, scrub nurse, or monitoring nurse.
  • Continuous learning opportunities as technology evolves.

Pros

One of my favorite contracts so far, especially on the Joint & Spine Center which has all the latest tech. Traveler friendly. Great team work attitude in my experience there. (I was weekend nights with consistent coworkers though so that might not be consistent. Massage chair on the Joint & Spine Unit when I was there. (This was Fall of 2021 though so who knows if it's still there!) Lots of housing options. Home of King's Island if you're into that sort of thing. Would definitely go here again!!
