Job Description

• Position in the HVTI-Stepdown Float Pool at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus.
• Shifts: Rotating Day/Night shifts (3x12's) from 7am-7:30pm or 7pm-7:30am. Typically consists of 2 weeks of days followed by 2 weeks of nights.

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum of 18 months recent Cardiac Stepdown experience. PCU/Progressive care experience preferred but not required.
• Licensure: Must have a permanent Ohio license or a compact state license in hand.
• Certifications:

  • AHA BLS & ACLS required.
  • NIH Stroke Certification required.
  • Additional certifications may be required based on unit specifics (e.g., PALS, NRP, etc.).

Additional Information

• Travelers must work at least every other holiday.
• ECG rhythm recognition test and safeMedicate assessment required during orientation.
• Government-issued photo ID required while on assignment.

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical Exam: Must be completed within a year of start.
• Vaccinations:

  • Tdap vaccine required every 10 years.
  • Flu vaccine required during flu season.
  • TB screening required annually.
• Drug Testing: Standard 10 Panel Drug Screen required within 12 months of start.

Background and Reference Checks

• Background check required prior to start of assignment.
• Two references required from employment within the past year.

• Application must include 3 years of prior work history, including at least 2 years of clinical practice in an acute care setting relevant to the position.

Competencies

• Unit-specific competency exams required within 12 months of start and updated annually.
