Required Certifications

  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (required for specific units)
  • BLS - Basic Life Support (required for all RNs)
  • PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (required for ER, Pediatrics, and PICU)
  • NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure (required for L&D, NICU, Post Partum, and Nursery RNs)
  • TNCC - Trauma Nursing Core Course (required for Pre-Start ER RNs)
  • EFM - Electronic Fetal Monitoring (required for L&D RNs)
  • CPI - Crisis Prevention Institute (required for Psych/Behavioral Health RNs)
  • CHEMO - Chemotherapy (preferred for Oncology)
  • NIH Stroke Certification (preferred for Neuro ICU and Medical Surgical-Neuro)

Additional Requirements

  • Background Check: Required within 60 days of start
  • NURSYS Verification: Required within 60 days of start
  • State License Verification: Required within 60 days of start
  • Primary Source Verification: Required within 60 days of start
  • Drug Testing: Negative 9 Panel Drug Screen required within 60 days of start
  • Health Documents:
    • Physical Exam within 1 year of start
    • TB testing and vaccination documentation
    • Vaccination records for MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, and Tdap
    • Flu vaccination or approved exemption required by October 31

Facility-Specific Documents

  • New Hire Packet: Required for all employees prior to start
  • Access and Confidentiality Agreement: Must be signed prior to start
  • MO FCSR Worker Registration Form: Time-sensitive, must be initiated within 48 hours of signing
  • DMH Caregiver Registration Form: Time-sensitive, must be completed no later than 2 weeks prior to start

Competencies

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam: Required as applicable by profession
  • Competency Exam: Required as applicable to profession/specialty

References

  • Professional References: 2 required within the last 3 years

Resume Requirements

  • Must include at least 7 years of employment history with no gaps greater than 30 days
  • Must include education information with completion dates
