McLaren Northern has incorporated a strict 3 strike attendance policy to advocate for their patient population. Any RN contractor who is absent from a scheduled shift or is more than 20 minutes late for their scheduled shift 3 times will be terminated effective immediately. Situations such as a communicable disease or hospitalization with supporting evidence will be reviewed in favor of the contractor. This policy will begin on 6/1/2024.
Level 2 North is a 28-bed Medical Surgical Unit with a diverse patient population consisting of general and vascular surgery, bariatric surgery, plastic surgery, trauma, and is the stroke unit for the hospital. It is a challenging fast-paced environment with great learning opportunities for both graduate and experienced nurses. Nursing on this unit is patient-centered and focused on patient safety and delivery of quality care for positive patient outcomes.
Using clinical pathways, patient education, and interactive communication as guides, all aspects of patient care are addressed by our exceptional Interdisciplinary Care Team.
Further McLaren Specifics: Nonbillable Hours: 12 hours of initial hours.

Job requirements

2+ Years of experience - Required
Michigan license verification is required for nurses.
A skills checklist completed within one year of application for RN specialties is required.

Additional Details

Travel - highly preferred
References NOT required.
Full-time employees of McLaren are not eligible for contract hire within six months of employment.

Pros

Professional surgical unit, very friendly, great communication, fair call scheduling, geared for travelers by having a list of everyone's names for charting.

Cons

Twenty minute limit to be there for call, but they have sleeping rooms if neccessary.
