Current BCLS certification

Administers treatments and occupational agents as prescribed by a referring physician to restore function and prevent disability following injury, disease or physical disability.

Assists patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning, while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities.

The staff therapist coordinates, delegates and supervises responsibilities assigned to supportive staff, and participates in scheduling patients, as well as all other aspects of patient care within the Department.

The OT participates in operational aspects of the department, maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in QA activities.

Participates in all infection control, departmental equipment training, organizational safety and fire safety programs.

Current license from the State of Illinois

Current BLS required (or obtained within 6 months of hire); ACLS preferred

Must be able to work beyond traditional work hours on all shifts and on weekends and holidays as needed

Provides for a safe patient environment to include call bell and personal belongings proximity, bed rail and bed position, clutter-free area, and frequent patient rounding for care needs

Ensures correct patient identification before any medication or treatment delivery by confirming the patients identification band and utilizing two patient identifiers

Includes patient and/or family as part of the care team
