Under supervision, to perform professional nursing duties in the care and services to patients and their families in an acute care and non-acute care facility; to assist physicians and carry out their orders; and to do other work as required.
Ability to care for the Nursery patient assigned to the nursery unit.
Responsibilities include participation in activities relating to quality assurance, policy and procedure review/revision, in-service education and staff development.

Job requirements

Knowledge of hospital established policies quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control policies and procedures and Nursing Practice Act of the State of California.
Ability to manage emergency or crisis situations; requires judgment/action which could result in undesirable patient outcomes.
Perform the full range of nursing duties and responsibilities in an acute care and non-acute care setting.

Additional Details

Knowledge of medical instruments and equipment, medical terminology and hospital routine.
The uses and effects and appropriate documentation of medicine and narcotics. Community resources available to provide patient care and follow-up.
Federal, State, and local laws and regulations governing professional aspects of nursing.
