Job Description
- Minimum Experience: 2 years; first-time travelers accepted
- Patient Population: Adults to Geriatrics
- Unit Type: Telemetry unit
- Common Diagnoses:
- Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
- Myocardial Infarction (MI) / Chest Pain (pre- and post-cath)
- Dysrhythmias (pre- and post-device implants)
- Hypo-/Hypertension
- Pleural Effusion
- Sepsis
- Pulmonary Embolism (PE) / Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) / Vascular Issues
Work Environment
- Patient Ratio: 1:4-5; 16 Rooms
- Unit Systems: Epic (Required), Pyxis, SBAR
- Scrub Color: Navy Blue
Scheduling
- RTO (Request Time Off): Maximum 7 days
- Weekends: Every other weekend
- Floating: Yes
- Call Requirements: None
- Holidays: Expected to work one major holiday if it falls within the assignment period; if two major holidays fall within the assignment period, expected to work both.
Compliance Requirements
- Full compliance required to start on time; non-compliance may result in a 2-week delay due to bi-weekly orientation schedule.
Certifications Required
- BLS: Basic Life Support
- ACLS: Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- NIH: National Institutes of Health Stroke Certification
- PALS: Pediatric Advanced Life Support (if applicable)
- EFM: Electronic Fetal Monitoring (if applicable)
- State License Verification: Required for RNs in Georgia
Health Documents
- Negative TB or Chest X-Ray: Required within 12 months of start date
- Flu Vaccine or Declination: Required
- COVID Vaccine or Declination: Required
- Drug Testing: Negative 10 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days of start
Background and History Checks
- Background Check: Required within 30 days of start
- References: 2 clinical references needed
- Work History Verification: Required
- Education Verification: Required
Additional Information
- Candidates must review and sign the Piedmont Code of Conduct and Acknowledgement prior to start.
- Skills Checklist must be updated annually.
