Job Description

• Position: First Assist RN
• Shift Details: 4x10H Days (06:30 - 16:30)
• Experience Required: Minimum of 2 years; No first-time travelers

Documentation and Certifications Required

• Government Issued Photo ID: Required
• ACLS: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (AHA only)
• BLS: Basic Life Support (AHA only)
• PALS: Pediatric Advanced Life Support (AHA only)
• NRP: Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
• Tech Cert Verification: National (as applicable)
• State License Verification
• NURSYS Verification: Required for RN, LPN/LVN, AP
• NIH Stroke Certification: Required for ICU and ER
• Medication Calculation Test: Required for all RNs
• EKG Test: Required for departments with Cardiac Monitoring
• Competency Exams: Various exams required based on specialty
• Physical Exam: Required within 1 year of start
• Fit Mask: Required within 1 year from start date
• Vaccinations:

  • TDAP vaccine within the last 10 years
  • Negative TB or Chest X-Ray within 1 year of start
  • Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, and Varicella vaccinations or titers
  • Flu Vaccine required during flu season
  • COVID-19 vaccination records (if applicable)

• Background Check: Standard background check within 1 year of start
• References: 2 professional references required

• Unit Specific Skills Checklist: Required and updated annually
• Internal Evaluation: Required if worked for a year or more
