    Job details
  • Flexible start dates - 8/20, 9/3, 9/17
  • Hours are 12:00 noon – 8:30 PM
  • Monday through Friday on site but available if needed on weekends, nights, etc. on a rotating basis
  • Covers on-call with other Coordinators Monday-Friday 24/7 and rotates weekends for calls from staff
  • Responsible for organizing, planning, leading, and directing clinical and management activities for the Perioperative Services areas
  • Accountable for daily operations and oversight of nursing practice and patient care delivery on the evening shift of the department
  • Collaborates with the Director of Perioperative Services, other Nurse Coordinators, surgeons, anesthesia, and Sterile Processing Management to develop evidence-based nursing care standards
  • Ensures that throughput of patients is maximizing efficiency in the OR and PACU on the evening shift so patients are not having long stays in the PACU and there are no patient delays
  • Leads staff to meet all Joint Commission, IDPH, and CMS regulatory standards
  • Must have knowledge of Collective Bargaining agreements, disciplinary process, hiring, supervision, and management of Perioperative Services staff
    Job requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from a school of nursing with additional postgraduate coursework in Nursing, Business Administration, or Healthcare Administration
  • Must be licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Illinois
  • Five (5) years of recent nursing experience within a hospital environment
  • Three (3) years of recent Perioperative experience as a nurse supervisor or charge nurse
  • Must possess active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
    Schedule information
  • Hours are from 12:00 noon to 8:30 PM
  • Position requires on-site availability Monday through Friday
  • Availability needed for weekends, nights, etc. on a rotating basis for on-call coverage
