Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Location

Contract Details

• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Unit: Respiratory Therapy
• Shifts:

  • Start times: 6:45 AM and PM
  • Flexibility in clock-in times (6:38 AM - 6:46 AM or 6:38 PM - 6:46 PM)

Requirements

• Licenses/Certifications:

  • Georgia RT License
  • RRT Certification
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS (NRP required for NICU)
• Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Respiratory Therapy
  • Critical Care experience required
  • Must have completed at least 1 travel contract
  • Experience in a hospital with 300+ beds

Responsibilities

• Work in ICU/ER settings
• Perform all RT duties including:

  • Nebulizer treatments
  • Airway management
  • Vents (Servo vents U and I models)
  • ABG collection
  • Bedside pulmonary function tests
  • Intubation and bronchoscopy in ICU
• Manage high patient loads (average of 13-15 patients per shift)
• Collaborate with hospitalists and intensivists (in-house 24/7)

Additional Information

• Orientation:

  • First week: Hospital and charting orientation
  • Subsequent weeks: Gradual increase in patient load
  • Additional week for ICU orientation

• Patient Population:

  • Adults, pediatrics, and neonates (NICU RTs under nursing manager for NICU)

• Common Patient Conditions:

  • COPD, CHF, pneumonia, respiratory failure, ARDS, cancers, etc.

• Weekend and Holiday Requirements:

  • Rotating schedule with permanent staff
  • Every other holiday expected

• Scrub Color: Ceil blue (jacket allowed)

• Strict 75-mile radius rule for applicants
• No call required
• Charge RT responsibilities included
• Average treatments per day: 550 minutes per shift, with an average of 15 minutes per treatment
