Job requirements

Must have a strong cardiac tele background, preferably 2 years.
Must be able to decrease cardiac drips per physicians' orders and parameters.
Nurses must be able to read & interpret strips.
Travelers will need to pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to start, only (with 2 max attempts).
There is also a PASS/FAIL SIM LAB on day one of orientation.

Schedule information

12 hr shifts (7a - 7p or 7p - 7a)
Ability to self-schedule; however, this could change from time to time.
4 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule.
Rotate in with the perm staff for holidays.
No call required.

Unit specific information

ED holds waiting for placement on a unit, primarily MS/Tele.
Common diagnoses/Types of patients: ED holds waiting for placement on a unit, primarily MS/Tele.
Are RNs required to titrate drips? Yes
Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Cardizem, Heparin, Amiodarone.
Charge Nurse/House Supervisor: ED charge nurse.
ED PCTs available.
No Vents.
No monitor tech in the ED.
Would float to med/surg/tele/overflow units and CRMC/MGMC EDs as needed.
Scrub Color/Dress Code: Navy.
2 shifts orientation to Med/Surg/Tele at primary campus.

Additional Details

May be asked to help with ED patients including vitals, IV starts, and medication administration.
Will not be asked to be primary RN for ED patient assignment.
