# of beds: CRMC 60 ED Beds, MGMC 31 ED Beds

Ratios: 1 to 4

Common diagnoses/Types of patients: ED holds waiting for placement on a unit, primarily MS/Tele

Experience or 'Must have' skills: Must have a strong cardiac tele background, preferably 2 years.

Nurses will be caring for more tele patients VS medical.

Are RNs required to titrate drips? Yes

Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Cardizem, Heparin, Amiodarone

Shifts & Scheduling: 12 hr shifts (7a - 7p or 7p - 7a)

Additional Notes: Will be caring for patients from the ER who are waiting on a bed in the hospital.

Additional Questions: May be asked to help with ED patients including vitals, IV starts and medication administration. Will not be asked to be primary RN for ED patient assignment.

Must be able to decrease cardiac drips per physicians’ orders and parameters.

Must be able to read & interpret strips.

Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts in a 4 week schedule.

Holiday Requirement: Rotate in with the perm staff

Is there a call or standby requirement? No call required

Scrub Color/Dress Code: Navy

Unit/Department specific orientation: 2 shifts orientation to Med/Surg/Tele at primary campus.

Travelers will need to pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to start, through RELIAS, only (with 2 max attempts).

There is also a PASS/FAIL SIM LAB on day one of orientation (study guides will be provided with first day instructions.)
