  • A hospital in California is looking for an experienced L/D nurse for a travel contract.
  • The right candidate will have 2 full years of experience, hold an active BLS, ACLS, NRP, Advanced AWHONN and CA License.
    Job requirements
  • 2 full years of experience in L/D.
  • Active BLS, ACLS, NRP, Advanced AWHONN certifications.
  • Hold an active CA License.
    Schedule information
  • 12 hours shifts; 7a - 7p / 7p - 7a.
  • 1/2 hour break (clock-out); 3 - 15 min breaks per shift (CA Law).
  • Weekends: Usually every other weekend (same as perm staff).
    Unit specific information
  • No nurse aides, but have OB techs that help with C-sections & assist as needed with baby cares.
  • Charge Nurse: Around the clock, does not take patients.
  • Breaks: 1/2 hour break (clock-out); 3 - 15 min breaks per shift (CA Law).
  • Unit Orientation: 2 shifts on the unit, will also meet with the educator.
  • Doc System: CERNER REQUIRED.
  • Add'l equipment: Pagers linked to call light system & internal spectralink phones.
  • Tele: Post-surgery only for the hour post-surgery C-section.
  • RT 24/7: Yes.
  • Pharmacy 24/7: Yes.
  • No floating required as it is a Closed Unit; Nights, EOW, first to float.
