Job Description

• Specialty: Registered Nurse
• Experience Required:

  • 2 years of pediatric experience required
  • First-timers accepted only with 3+ years of recent experience
• Weekend Requirements: As needed
• Local Candidates: Not accepted (100 miles radius rule)
• Pending License: Not accepted; all travelers must comply with NLC guidelines
• RTO Restrictions: All RTO must be included at the time of submission

Special Requirements

• Pediatrics experience required
• BSN preferred

Certifications Required

• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (AHA or ARC only)
• BLS - Basic Life Support (AHA or ARC only)
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (AHA or ARC only)
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure (AAP only for specific units)
• TNCC - Trauma Nursing Core Course (preferred for ER)
• EFM - Electronic Fetal Monitoring (Intermediate AWHONN required for L&D)
• NIH Stroke Certification - Required for all RNs at Methodist Healthcare, except Le Bonheur Children's Hospital

Health Documents Required

• Physical Exam - Required within 1 year of start
• Fit Mask Test - 3M N-95 Masks only, must pass prior to start
• Immunizations - Proof of vaccinations for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
• TB Testing - True 2-step PPD, Q-Gold, or T-spot within 1 year of start
• Flu Vaccine - Required prior to start (October 1 – March 31)
• COVID-19 Vaccination - Preferred, not required

Background and History Checks

• Background Check - Must include statewide, county, federal searches, and education verification
• References - Two recent professional references required
• Education Verification - Required, diploma/transcript not accepted in lieu

Additional Information

• Dress Code: Specific scrub colors for different roles; business casual for RN Case Managers
• Photo Badge: Must meet strict guidelines for submission
