Job Summary

• Administers radiation therapy in accordance with physician's instructions and the patient's treatment plan.
• Enters data into computer systems and adjusts equipment to regulate dosage.
• Assists physicians, radiation oncologists, and clinical physicists in preparing radiation treatment plans based on patient condition and anatomy.
• Constructs patient immobilization devices as ordered by physicians.
• Maintains patient and billing records, including radiation dosages, equipment settings, and patient reactions.
• Performs routine and complex radiation therapy treatments, such as total body irradiation, stereotactic radiosurgery, and brachytherapy.
• Prepares equipment and treatment rooms for patients.
• Utilizes protective equipment and procedures to ensure safety for patients and staff.
• Conducts quality assurance procedures in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
• Provides clinical instruction and evaluation for student radiation therapists.
