Job details

A Hospital near Sacramento is looking for an experienced Telemetry nurse to work on the ED Overflow (Tele Holding) unit.
The right candidate will have 2 years of experience.

Job requirements

2 years of experience
Active BLS
Active ACLS
NIHSS certification

Schedule information

12Hr shifts, 7A or 7P - self-scheduling is used; but is not finalized until the manager balances it.
Schedules are out 4 weeks.
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Holiday Requirement: Rotate in with the perm staff.

Unit specific information

Ratios: 1:4 or 1:5
Are RNs required to titrate drips? Yes
Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Mainly heparin, amio, cardizem, GI drugs
Is there tele on this unit? Monitor Techs? RNs read strips? Yes, there is tele, no monitor tech in the ED. RNs must be competent in reading strips.

Additional Details

ACLS, BLS, NIHSS; Med Sol prescreens/auto offer & manager has 24 hrs to rescind
Need 2 sup refs (charge accepted) at submittal; 1 w/in 12 mo. & 1 w/in 3 years worked
Modules are required done for start. Modules take 3-4 hrs - not billable
Prior to acceptance, the Dys exam (basic) through UNA is required along with acceptance. Must be completed within 24-48 hrs. It’s pass or fail and they get 2 attempts.
