Job details
- 2 years of unit experience
- RNs are required to titrate drips
- RNs must read and interpret tele monitors
- A nurse on this unit is successful if they are a team player, are flexible and adaptable, and have good communication skills
Job requirements
- 12 hour shifts, 36 hours guaranteed
- Shifts & Scheduling: 0630-1830, 1830-0630
- Weekend Requirements: Every third
- Holiday Requirements: Rotating with perm staff
- Floating Requirements: Yes to MedSurg or to ICU to take PCU acuity patients
- How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: 1 week
Schedule information
- Beds: 40 beds with average daily census of 24
- Ratios: 1:4-5 both days and nights
- Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Adults, Cardiac med/surg, dialysis, cancer diagnosis, vascular,sepsis, adult respiratory, stroke, post stent, post pacer placement, renal failure
- Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Heparin, Nitro, Dopamine, Cardizem, Amiodarone, insulin
- Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Yes
- Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties?: Yes, 1:12
- RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot?: High flow
- Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: RNs must read and interpret
- Scrub Color/Dress code: Navy Blue
Unit specific information
- WILL NOT APPROVE BLOCKED SCHEDULING OR SAME SCHEDULE/SHIFTS, MUST BE FLEXIBLE AND WILLING TO FLOAT AND WORK WHEN NEEDED
- Looking for someone who is flexible and willing to learn as well as take feedback along the way
- Different cultural populations are served on this unit- primarily Hispanic and Somalian
- Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.
- RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
