Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:1-2 ICU, 1:4 PCU.

Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Adults and Peds >15 years old.

Are RNs required to titrate drips?: Yes.

Shifts & Scheduling: 0630-1830, 1830-0630.

Shifts: 0630-1830, 1830-0630.

Weekend Requirements: Every other.

Holiday Requirements: Every other or as needed based on unit needs.

Floating Requirements: Will float to all inpatient units, excluding Maternity/NICU.

How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: 2 shifts.

Common titratable and/or set rate drips: Vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, antiarrhythmics.

Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Yes- will attend RRTs and Codes.

Are there nurse aides/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties?: Yes- 1:18.

RT Equipment: Nasal cannula to vents.

Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: No techs- Draeger heart monitoring with centralized telemetry monitoring. RNs need to be able to read and interpret.

Scrub Color/Dress Code: Navy Blue.

Work with attendings and student providers (fellows, residents) to collaborate on care.
