Travel Nurse RN - PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Guaranteed Hours: 36 (will accept 48 upon request)

Primary location: Gateway

Minimum Experience REQUIRED: 3 years RN experience, 1 full year of stepdown experience, 1 travel assignment, trauma level II experience.

Patient Population: Cardiac (post cath stents/interventions, pacers), CIWA/BH, Sepsis, DKA, CVA, CPAP, feeding tubes, crani POD 2, GI bleeds, hypothermic/bear hugger.

Must have current active compact license.

AHA BLS, AHA ACLS and NIHSS certifications required.

Recent EPIC charting experience required (will be required to do a checkoff class).

REQUIRED - Tele/12-lead EKG interpretation, Initiate/titrate drips (antiarrhythmics, Heparin, Insulin, etc.). Post surgical assessment/care. NIHSS/Neuro assessments/dysphagia screen.

PREFERRED - Stable home vents, PleurX drain/pericardial drains, lumber drains, VP shunts, Narcan drips.

Must have strong assessment and critical thinking skills!

Start: 11/18 or 12/2 - Bi-weekly orientation

Shift Requirement: 12hr Days 6:30-7

Float Requirement: First to float within skillset. Deaconess Midtown (IN) campus (8 miles apart) & potential to float to Deaconess Henderson (KY – 11 miles). 2 HR notice given for cross campus float. Mid-shift float within same campus. Cross campus mid-shift float is unlikely but possible.

Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Three weekends out of every six week schedule. Every other holiday.

Unit Information: 16 beds; Ratio: Days 1:3-4; NOCs 1:3-4 (1:5 for M/S). CN takes 1:2 patient assignment.
