A hospital near Sacramento is looking for experienced MedSurg/Tele RN for a travel contract on the Surgical Acute unit.
The right candidate will have 2 years of experience, hold an active BLS, ACLS, NIH and CA License.

Job requirements

Schedule information

12 hr shifts.
Shift starts 645. Report is at the bedside.
OT and extra shifts are available.
Self-scheduling is used, but is not finalized until Manager balances it.
Schedules are out 4 weeks.
Travelers can access their schedules from home and make themselves 'available' for extra shifts and make trades with other staff.
Block scheduling is generally not available.
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend.
Holidays: Rotate in with core staff.

Unit specific information

# beds: 30
Ratios: 1:4-5. If patients on tele then 1:4.
EMR: Cerner
Scrubs Color: Navy - under shirts must be navy, white, or black. Scrub jackets are optional, must be navy.
Tele: Yes, must be able to read and interpret EKG strips.
Vents: No
Hospitalist or Intensivist in house: Yes, Hospitalist or Intensivist
IV Team: No
Floating: All other Sacramento facilities. Mid-shift float to another facility is rare, but can happen.
Floor specific orientation: 1 - 2 days on the floor with a preceptor.
Shift: 12hr Days, EOW, First to Float

Additional Details

DYSRHYTHMIA EXAM (BASIC) THROUGH RELIAS IS REQUIRED TO BE SENT ALONG WITH ACCEPTANCE.
Modules are required to be done before start of assignment.
Modules take on average 3-4 hours to complete-this time is not billable to the hospital.
PRIOR TO ACCEPTANCE, THE DYSRHYTHMIA EXAM (BASIC) THROUGH RELIAS IS REQUIRED TO BE SENT ALONG WITH ACCEPTANCE.
