- The hospital is looking for both day and night shift coverage.
- The shift will be twelve hours, 13-26 Week Contacts, 36-48 hour guarantee's.

- ACLS Preferred, BLS; Department: Med Tele / Ortho RN - 4th Floor North & South
- Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:5-6
- Common diagnosis / Types of patients: MedSurg/Tele- joint replacements, fractures, colon resections, COPD exacerbation, prostatectomy, cellulitis, sepsis, ortho trauma, GI bleeds, pneumonia, failure to thrive
- RNs required to titrate drips: Heparin, lidocaine, and ketamine
- Common titratable &/or set rate drips: PCA pumps
- Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Yes
- Nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties?: Yes- 1:10-20
- Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RN's required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: Tele techs will interpret, RNs should have some tele awareness
Job requirements
- Shifts: 0630-1900, 1830-0700 // Travelers will be scheduled.
- Self scheduling allowed. Will approve a limited amount of block scheduling
- Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend
- Holiday Requirements: 2-3 Holidays from Thanksgiving to New Years.

- Orientation: How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: 2 days
- This unit includes MedSurg/Tele- ortho and various other specialties.
Unit specific information
- Floating Requirements: Yes to other medical surgical areas or units with MedSurg patients waiting for a MedSurg bed
- Scrub Color/Dress Code/Scrubs Provided?: RNs: Navy Blue
- Have mechanical lifts in every other room
- Big focus on hourly rounding and responsiveness
- This unit typically has multiple discharges and admissions in one day
- A nurse is successful on this unit when they can manage the busyness of the day, have good attendance, are a team player, friendly, compassionate, and cares about patients first.
- They serve patients of all cultures on this unit including Spanish, Karen, Burmese
- Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.
- RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
